10am start for Chessington Cubs and Scouts
Thanks for signing up to the Kingston Scouts Canoe Club Fun session for Cubs and Scouts, please see above for a parental consent form which we will need from the start to keep on record. The swimming section should not rule out those who cannot swim 50m – it is simply so that the coaches and I can keep a slightly closer eye on those who may be weaker swimmers (buoyancy aids are provided for all).
The Session is 10.00 – 1.00 on Sunday 17th May.
Cost is £3/head/session.
There are some details of what to wear, etc here; http://kingstonscoutscc.org.uk/?page_id=685
It would also be prudent to have a quick read of some background info on Weils Disease, please note though that this is very rare and it’s more about promoting normal precautions such as covering cuts with a plaster and having a shower after canoeing; http://kingstonscoutscc.org.uk/?page_id=626
Can I also take this opportunity to mention that if your child wears glasses AND needs to wear them whilst canoeing then please do think about a glasses retainer
I hope that all this information helps, do feel free to contact me if you have any queries at all.
