<\/p>\nDear Scouts and Scouters,<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is the first sun protection initiative for those who work outdoors with children.\u00a0 Launched in 2014, it is now supported by over 80 National Governing Bodies and outdoor organisations including\u00a0British Canoeing<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0This year the\u00a0Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(the charity behind the initiative) is launching a national survey to investigate the current provision of sun protection for children in the UK.<\/p>\n The findings will be used to promote the launch of a new Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code website in May. The revised format offers easier to follow guidelines and new resources to help you develop and implement an effective sun policy. The feedback will help generate an understanding of opinions, knowledge and habits with a goal of improving the awareness and implementation of effective sun protection not just for children, but for all those who spend prolonged periods of time in the sun either teaching, coaching, playing or watching outdoor activities.<\/p>\n Please Help the Research<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n All official partners and supporters of the initiative are being asked to take part, so if you work with children outdoors, please get involved.\u00a0 It needs to be completed by individuals (coaches, teachers, leaders, instructors etc.) will take under a minute to complete and is\u00a0completely\u00a0anonymous,\u00a0so please ensure you responses reflect your current practice.
