For those new to Brass Act the majority of players you will see learnt to play music in some of the boroughs other bands, and we are fortunate to have a real mix of bands covering many styles in the local area.
Our vision was to set up a Brass Band and actively encourage other local musicians to challenge and enjoy themselves in this relaxed environment.
‘Brass Act’ play not for accolades but just for ourselves. Perfecting the one piece for a ranking among our peers on the competition circuit is not on the agenda. We like to mix things up, we like to steer our merry band slowly but surely in a direction that may not be conformist as well as enjoying ourselves along the way.
We rehearse once a week on Wednesday’s 7.30-9.30 at 2nd Hook Scout headquarters in Hook Road, Chessington and would welcome any musicians over the age of eighteen that would enjoy the challenge of a different musical pad or perhaps someone that has laid down their instrument some years ago and is looking to reignite their passion in a fun and relaxed environment.
